One Body Incorporated – One Body Books

INDIANAPOLIS – The poetry and dance of Margaret (Meg) Coyle Irsay come to life in her first book, Messages to Me: Words Collected on the Road to Silence. The written poems are illustrated with striking photographic images of these same poems told through the language of her dance. The combination of these words and images are more than the sum of two parts. Together they describe and point to essential connection, to the root of Truth, to the space of communion, to the ground of community. This art quality book, with attention and conscious intention to every detail, lovingly invites the reader to relax and surrender to love’s rhythms. “This book is brave. It is intimate. These poems relentlessly tell the story of Acceptance.”

Meg’s poetry, written, danced or spoken, emerges from a lifetime of studying, teaching and learning with breath and movement. Some of the forms she has been involved with include GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, Rolfing, Feildenkrais, Rubenfeld, and ecstatic dance. She has taught what she calls “conscious movement” in community for 25 years, exploring the connection between opening the heart and letting the body flow. Her teaching practice has been her vehicle for service, her ministry. This book is yet another form of her conscious intention to witness for Love in this world.

Friend Stephen Gilligan, Ph. D. and author of The Courage to Love, makes this comment on her book, “Wow! These impassioned pictures and poems of the heart radiate with great, loving intensity. In opening her being to the deepest rhythms and raptures of life, and then artfully releasing them into the world, Meg Coyle (Irsay) encourages and supports us to do the same. May we find the courage and freedom to do just that!”

The sixth of eight children, Meg Coyle Irsay grew up in the Chicago area where she met her husband Jim Irsay at 16. They have been married for 27 years, moving to Indianapolis in 1984, where they have raised their three daughters Carlie, Casey, and Kalen.
