Don’t worry about the form in particular. It is better to practice then to not practice. Discovery requires experience. Experience requires experiment. Experiment requires willingness. Willingness requires readiness. Readiness arrives out of the need to heal.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20120125131800</o:pubDate>

IT'S AMAZING

It is amazing how finding community around true ideas

by Roger Jahnke, O.M.D.
I have studied with Dr. jahnke for a few years. His teaching is clear and pragmatic, and the approach he is taking to cultivating and maintaining optimum health is simple to learn. His writing is lovely, not dry at all. He is a lovely dedicated man doing a fine job of translating ancient practices into viable usable, accessable tools for balancing the human experience with grace and health. This book is one of the "text books" I use in working with people in the studio.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20120119011600</o:pubDate>

SLOW DOWN NOW TO FIND OUT HOW

This is the
issue yes, slow down and allow the breath. It is a life’s work to make our way all the way in to the door of our own resistance to the breath. The frustrating contradiction
of the Modern Human- I need to slow down and breathe and I don’t have time!

Realizing
that the horse will only change colors when we paint it, is a lesson that is
hard to fully accept- and eventually, this lifetime, or in a few more million of
them, we
find our way home to where we started in the first (and last) place- in the
heart of Breath without one cell resisting, flowing and growing further and
more deeply into awareness.

Seems so
funny that it takes so long to learn to accept the most simple truth of existence and even more funny to recognize that what we are so heatedly looking for is inside each one of us waiting to be heard.

What is the
fly in the ointment? Mental decisions about what we think we need, based on
less than the full story. Not a good formula for satisfaction.

These moments are miraculous.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20120117191300</o:pubDate>

THE GOLDEN KEY

The purpose of spiritual practice is ultimately to become more conscious of the fact that we are still resisting the breath even when we believe we do not want to! Automated patterning piles up, and on top of our plain being. It is a life’s work- to peel back the layers of automation that are no longer serving. It is a life’s work to peal them back, one at a time, one moment at a time, using awareness practices including the honest loving witness of community and non-resistance to whatever movement you find happening in the moment. Just a reminder that the golden key is not any particular form of exercise but the capacity to be in soft and alert relationship with gravity and the breath in the process of remaining present and in the moment.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20120108112200</o:pubDate>

MOVE OR GET OUT OF THE WAY

Essentially, all experience is Essence, arriving in the body of form and circumstance. The action of all form is relatively faithful (humble and responsive) or fearful (prejudice and reactive) according to the particular impulses that are dominating our system. The essential difference between the two (fear and faith) is the relationship with the breath. Fear resists the breath, in attempt to escape reality. Fear generates constriction in the tissue by holding the breath away from those tissues. Faith accepts reality and allows the breath to direct at (free) will. We are either, allowing the breath and moving in response to life, or we are resisting the breath and resisting reality. Anything in resistance to reality is unsustainable. Reality will not be denied.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111230180900</o:pubDate>

SOMETIMES GROWTH IS PAINFUL

How do we recognize our humanness and rejoice in our capacity to become more consciously articulate about what motivates us, more self aware about how our conditioning influences us, and more accurate and self responsible about the moment to moment choices we are making? The broadest response I have to the challenges of cultivating this capacity is to slow down and listen. The best I can be is this life is more aware. At mid life I find I am more aware of the burning smell from riding the brakes against my own authenticity. And there is always work to do. Waking up is my life’s work. I wish is to do this work calmly without cursing my lessons or teachers. I am glad to be alive and sometimes growth is really painful.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111221062200</o:pubDate>

TRUSTING DEATH

Learning to Trust who We are in truth, in ease, in peace, and gentle confidence certainly entails learning to allow who we believe we are, to die, and fall away.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111219074100</o:pubDate>

IDENTITY OF SERVICE

The Identity of my Service in the world is gestating in the womb of the existential question “Who am I”? My life is a journey into the gestation process of the Tai Chi between my infinite being and my embodied experience. My service is to speak of this process in plain and constructive terms, with actions that are clear and grounded in essential gravity and balance. My experience of this process and my satisfaction moment to moment is relative to my capacity to understand and take consciousness responsibility for an intention directed at the essence of life and the growing acceptance of the journey into the tai chi of the differenciated and integrated Self, the individual and universal identity.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111215075900</o:pubDate>

CREATIVE SPONTANEITY

Creative Spontaneity Beauty and Grace What I am Here to learn I am Here to teach.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111214065600</o:pubDate>

3 INTENTIONS

There are three primary elements to balance in your practice constantly, posture, breath and the state of your mind. Until I can understand and accept reality, all I can do is continue to choose another form of distraction or another way to medicate my frustration to resisting reality. When I realize the futility of painting the horse yet another color with the expectation of transforming my experience of the horse, I can move again more directly toward real understanding.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111212111900</o:pubDate>

AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIP

When you are identified with helplessness, you will always look for someone to take care of you instead of someone to participate with you in uncovering and discovering the satisfaction of authentic relationship.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111209080500</o:pubDate>

LETS GROW UP!

Oh my (life). I see I only need to wake up. To the best of my ability I choose to surrender pretense and acknowledge the power of my choice to live by the wisdom found in the balance of my body and spirit. Even when I am in the throws of confusion, I will look to my capacity to find clarity through the practice of patiently waiting out the insanity of my fears and return to essential principles when the story sweeps me away from the ground of reality. When I am in the throws of confusion I look to my community to honestly respond to my insanity. I am not waiting for something true, I am waiting to remember the truth again. This starts when I surrender resistance. This starts when I grow tired of the same tired results of my efforts at happiness. This starts when I choose to accept the reality of loss and grief over loss and grief I don’t want to pretend any more.My eyes are open and I can see the scoreEvery Thing is Impermanent.Period. I’ll cry when I need to like a human does some times.but I won’t be surprised or feel victimized by my pain. This is huge! The laws of cause and effect are constant and perfect. When I stand still I can see and learn more about the way they truly work. Trying to negotiate a safe passage is futile-There isn t one way anyway. There is no way to account for what happens And we are grown now. So what of it?Everything for Everything feels like a fair deal to me. And my opinion is not only not necessary for reality and happiness, it is often makes a mess (in my head)I dance what comes and surrender hope of making my self into something I imagine I need to be.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111206145700</o:pubDate>

SCHOOL OF SELF

There is a piece of being human that only grows through community. Real community requires good communication. Good communication requires healthy community starting with the community of our Selves, the collective of our emotions, thoughts and sensations. When we are ourselves in good standing with every part of ourselves, we can begin to move into the lessons of relationship that are so vital to self-realization.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111205120900</o:pubDate>

WITH LESS OPINION

The first step in awareness practice is to understand our choices. Life is an educational process. When you are afraid to learn, it is hard to learn. We all get stuck. We can rename it by our response to the challenges of living through our fears with paitience or not but to stay with the whole moment and follow it to the peace of our satisfying joy. I name it edification and a resistance that is softening with the practice of softening and watching more quietly (with less opinion).
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111129144600</o:pubDate>

ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES

The only true group is one bound by essential principles. By consciously extending our authentic intention with a group of like minds, with attention to gravity and breath as a priority, we exercise our capacity to take responsibility for our health by feeling for a unified rhythm of sustainable movement.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111128145300</o:pubDate>

RELEASE THE MEDICINE

The essential medicine we need is as close as the breath in our bodies. Setting intention to release our tensions through honest shaping and sounding, using our own timing, releases the internal medicine that unwinds the fearful imprints that are continuing to generate misperception and the misdirected choices that come with it.
<o:author>meg coyle irsay</o:author>
<o:pubDate>20111127085100</o:pubDate>
